Curious.. where did he attack or insult the icons?
I think this was translated from Romanian or Slavic?
He stated that "Baptists do not recognize the cult of icons and worshiping the saints."
If this is what you are referring to?
The word "cult" is defined as: a system of religious veneration and devotion directed toward a particular figure or object.
I am in no way trying to argue, please do not take this the wrong way. I am simply came across this post looking for something specific.
I am Baptist and the woman I want to marry is Orthodox.

You have to train your mind. everything starts in your thinking. When you see a half dressed girl/woman, pics, turn your head the other way, don't think about it later, don't entertain it in your thoughts, or tell your friends about it.
Internet, cut it off, keep scrolling, cut off friends of women on facebook that dress this way. I call this clean up house. Stop associating with people this way, cut off.
Practice this daily, and everyday, and you will concure it.

Vasile insulted the Orthodox Church with his ATTACK and MISREPRESENTATION of Icons. That's how SECTARIANS like him operate - lie and misrepresent Orthodoxy and promote A SECTARIAN ALTERNATIVE. This is often successful with Orthodox who are ignorant of their Faith. With globalism, many indigenous sectarians are springing up TO LEAD ORTHODOX ASTRAY (as Matthew 24 predicted) AND MAKE A LOT OF MONEY FOR THEIR PREACHER/POPES. (every protestant "preacher" is HIS OWN POPE DOING WHATEVER HE WANTS WITH THE BIBLE, ETC.)

I love the Lord Jesus Christ, Adonai Yeshua HaMoschiach, and am glad to have found articles about the faith that are so genuine and informative. Thank you brother for the work you do.

I'm interested in learning about how churches are addressing this issue, and what some ideas are for going forward. I personally, feel that every church should have a "wing" devoted to

1. new believers who are homosexual because they were homosexual before they surrendered to Jesus.

2. new believers who are recovering drug addicts. These guys need help and encouragement, and drug addiction is "becoming" one of the most easy and effective methods of the devil, modern day.

Each "wing" should be ran by people who have made it through the program themselves. Thats almost an absolute must. This might sound like a strain, but then again, what is the role of the church? Is it not to be a refuge for believers, to edify them in their walk? Is it not to create and sustain missionary efforts abroad and at home? The specifics are determined by God in relation to the cultural milieu. This is the age(epoch,era,etc,) we're given.

What are your thoughts on something like that?

Also, reaching out to homosexuals is something that could benefit so much from the knowledge of someone who was homosexual, and after accepting Christ, was healed. We who aren't or haven't been in their situation, can't know how it is, and the experience of one who has would be of inestimable value.

I should also discuss this issue involving the misreading of But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. (Matthew 5:28). Somehow many have thought this to mean that if you look at a naked person and get aroused then you're committing lust. Or if you look at pornography then you're committing lust (some pornography is violent or does involve incest, bestiality, etc that is porneia and very wrong). But lust means a "burning desire". So if a guy sees a girl in a bikini and thinks of having sex with her, that's not lust, that's being a human just like a guy looking at a juicy steak and thinking of eating it isn't committing lust, he's just human and he's hungry. However if you become obsessed with obtaining someone (think of stalkers) and it drives your life and stifles your mind from everything else. So lust = burning desire. It does not mean thinking about or imagining.

I haven't read all the comments to know if anyone pointed this out but Fornication has nothing to do with sex between two consensual unmarried persons. That's somehow became the meaning today, but the actual word means prostitution, and not just any kind of prostitution either. Because a fornix was an archway under the city were the filth and scum of the city hung out and prostitutes that couldn't work in the official brothels had to solicit clients. The fornicator was the client of the prostitute, the fornatrix was the prostitute, and fornication was sex between these two people. On top of the fact that the word fornication isn't correctly used today is that even it was translated from an original greek word "porneia" which also included idolatry. This meant temple prostitution to be exact (look it up, it's strange stuff). So where now we have a mistranslated Bible to start with (English), and a word that has a new modern definition (fornication). We have people preaching consensual sex between two unmarried people is a sin, whereas the original Bible is many times outlawing temple prostitutes which was a form of idolatry through sex. The word porneia also in some uses meant bestiality, molestation, incest, and pedophilia, because at the time the Romans (and others) would attack tribes and cities and capture kids (a premium for the boys) and use them as sex slaves and where we now see "sexual immorality" in the Bible, the original word was porneia and the context wasn't temple prostitutes but incest.

I agree with Ivan. I do not believe Christians can be possessed, but they can be oppressed or demonized. The Word says "I would not have u be ignorant" "my people perish for lack of knowledge".
We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but angels, principalities, powers of the darkness...an invisible kingdom.
God isn't a man that He should lie. The devil is a liar and in him is no truth at all. He's the father of lies.
God says He didn't give us the "spirit" of fear, oh God didn't give it? then who did?
How many Christians are filled with (the spirit of) fear?
In the garden, God said "who told you that you were naked"? There wasn't any one else there. The devil lied then and he's been lying ever since.
It our job as Christians to know the word, we have no excuse, we have the owners manual.
Jesus said when the strong man is cast out, he wanders around dry places, comes back and sees the place clean, swept and in order...empty, not filled with the word, he comes back and brings 7 more worse than himself.
Jesus told Peter, that flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but my Father in heaven! Then a few verses down, He told him
Get behind me, Satan: you are an offense unto me: for you consider not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
So one minute we see Peter listening to "radio God" and the next we see him listening to "radio devil".
We always have a choice of which radio station we want to listen to.
Take our thoughts captive..."who told you that?" put them up to what the word says. If it doesn't line up with the word we need to cast it down, down where? To the dry places it came from.
God can't participate in our sin. He gave us a free will if we choose to be ignorant of His word, that's our choice.
Where does all the back biting, gossip and greed come from, God? ZI think not. We're constantly bombarded by this wretched law/spirit of sin and death. If we don't realize it's the devil and not us then we'll go into shame and guilt because we as Christians aren't supposed to have demons, then Feel more shame and guilt and just get frustrated, and angry, get meaner and the devil if having a field day. Its our job to use the word to battle the devil, just like Jesus did.
The devil wants to kill steal and destroy. He's not a gentleman and he plays for keeps. He uses doorpoints of trauma, rejection, abuse, etc to weasel himself into our thoughts. If we don't know the word, we'll listen to them.
God is a gentleman and He waits for us to choose.
We aren't supposed to fear evil, but we are to be aware of it. Any area we haven't committed and surrendered to God, by default, we've surrendered it to satan. There's only 2 Kingdoms to serve, I'll take Joshua's advice and choose whom I'll serve...I'll serve the Lord.
But the best part is when I blow it, I have 1Jn 1:9, if I confess my sins, HE is faithful (when I'm not) to forgive my sins and cleanse me from ALL unrighteousmess.
I don't see exorcism mentioned in the bible. That is a Catholic ritual. Jesus just said in My name u shall cast out demons.
But before we can be set free, we need to recognize that we're participating with sin/satan, repent for doing so, then remove "cast out" the devil, rejoice that we are set free, and according the word, he who the Son sets free is free indeed, then we need to go restore someone else with the same comfort we've received.
Its not a big ordeal like puking up green slime or something. That's Hollywood participating with satan to instill fear.

There's no law that states that its the parents HAFTA pay for college. If the parents were still together, would they be able to afford to send their kid to college?
My parents were still together when I was college age and they couldn't afford to send us to college.
I got my degree the old fashioned way...I worked and went to college at the same time.
Now if the father is remarried and sending his kids from the 2nd marriage to college, then I believe he should treat the kids from the first marriage the same.
Just sayin.
